Rori is
a 15 year old homeschooled sophomore from Bakersfield, CA. She is having a great time promoting the sport of rodeo around
California. Rori loves the impact she is having on young people and
especially treasures the day spent at the Kern County Fair visiting with
the disabled made possible by the Kern County Sheriff's Mounted Posse.
When not doing parades and rodeos, Rori competes in show jumping on her
quarter horse gelding, Pepsi. She is Bear Valley Springs High
Point Jumper of the Year in her first season competing at 2'6" and
higher. She is also very active showing dogs. She has held the
titles of CA Jr. Obedience Handler of the Year, CA Jr. Agility Handler
of the Year and has been named Best Jr. Handler several times. She
will be competing in AKC
's Eukanuba Championships this year with her Shetland sheepdog, Molly.
Rori is also very active on her high school Awana quiz team and loves
being able to quote God's word! Her other achievements include
being a two-time national champion roller skater, earning the ruby star
in 4-H and being a two-time Round Robin Champion at the Kern County
Fair.
When not doing chores on her 5 acres, you'll probably find Rori and
Pepsi visiting with children at a nearby park or off on a trail
ride with her identical twin sister, Dakota.
Rori encourages any girl thinking of running for rodeo queen to "go
for it!" She has found it to be an awesome way to develop
poise, confidence, and leadership skills. |
