Sabrina Jasper
Little Miss Barstow Rodeo

Sabrina Jasper is proud to represent The Barstow Rodeo during its 20th year. She is the 12-year-old daughter of Deborah and Pat Jasper. She attends Heritage School and is in the 7th grade. At school she participates in ASB, chess club, drama club, and choir. In her spare time she likes to compete with her horse, Angel, attend rodeos, and ride at the Dusty Spurs and High Desert Hustlers Gymkhana Shows.

She has three goals this year. The first is to represent the community of Barstow throughout the state as their Little Miss. She would also like to compete in Gymkhana and win the division saddle. Her final goal for this year is to raise awareness about Juvenile Diabetes. She will represent J.D.R.F. as a delegate at the Children’s Congress 2007 in Washington D.C. and work as a national spokesperson on behalf of juvenile diabetes. Sabrina is also a Leader in the Diabetic Youth Crew Foundation in the High Desert.

When she was five years old, she was diagnosed with Type I diabetes. She wants everyone to know that it is a growing disease and Type I diabetes is not caused by being overweight. Over the next year she would like to be a role model for diabetic children and remind them they can do anything they set their minds to. She would also like to be a spokesperson for the J.D.R.F. about diabetic research. There are a few new cures on the horizon for Type I diabetics, and she really wants everyone to support diabetic research. Just ask her how you can help.
