The first Miss Dallas County Rodeo Pageant was held Friday, June 20 at the Dallas County Fairgrounds in Adel, IA.  Coordinated by Callie McCauley, the event coincides with the Dallas County Fair Rodeo.  Contestants were judged in three main areas - appearance, personality and horsemanship.  Each presented a three minute prepared speech, participated in a personal interview, answered impromptu questions and demonstrated their horsemanship ability.  The Dallas County Fair Board sponsored the traveling tiara and Veach's Leather in Ankeny, IA sponsored the traveling chaps.  Other awards included a belt buckle sponsored by Sam and Sherry Davis, blouses from Reigning Rhinestones and Starry Skies Above, feed from Right Turn Feed Store, and a gift from Cowboy Up.

Gift buckets and flowers were presented to both contestants compliments of Dee McCauley.
