Thurston County Posse Queen

Elyse Stewart is the 19 year old daughter of Randy and Linda Stewart of Olympia, WA. She is a graduate of Black Hills High School. Elyse was an active member of two 4-H clubs Pony Express and Reservation Riders, as well as an active member of The Tumwater High school Equestrian team throughout her high school years. She also actively competes in barrel racing completions. Some of Elyse’s hobbies include Volleyball, camping, water sports, and scrap booking. Elyse’s Plans for the future are to attend college in Wyoming and become an Equine massage therapist, hopefully owning her own practice one day.

"I am very excited to represent the Thurston County Posse during my reign this year.  I am very eager to get out there and start promoting the great sport of rodeo, and to become a positive role model for today’s youth.  I will strive to promote Thurston County and the sport of rodeo to the best of my abilities."

The Thurston County Posse was formed in 1951 and currently has 19 members.  They participate in community events such as parades, rodeos, and the State Posse Convention.  The Posse has earned the title of State Drill Team champs for the past 4 years among numerous other awards of recognition.
